The new Xiaomi smartphone, the Mi 5 has just been unveiled and it has already set a new record for smartphone sales.14 million customers registered pre-orders for Xiaomi's new flagship smartphone within a week of it being unveiled.
The Mi 5 was launched at an event in China and also got a preview at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Hugo Barra, Xiaomi's VP introduced the Mi 5 saying ' This is the most beautifully designed phone we have ever made, and its the one that packs the biggest number of technological breakthroughs'.
The new Xiaomi smartphone will go on sale in China on March 1st then will probably be launched in India in April. It will not be available in Europe or the US.
